Still My Sisters in the Lord

Alma 17
1 And now it came to pass that as Alma was journeying from the land of Gideon southward, away to the land of aManti, behold, to his astonishment, he bmet with the csons of Mosiah journeying towards the land of Zarahemla.
2 Now these sons of Mosiah were with Alma at the time the angel afirst appeared unto him; therefore Alma did rejoice exceedingly to see his brethren; and what added more to his joy, they were still his brethren in the Lord; yea, and they had waxed strong in the knowledge of the truth; for they were men of a sound understanding and they had bsearched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God.

This scripture is about Alma the Younger.  He and the sons of Mosiah ran around when they were younger.  They had all had some rough teenage years, AWAY from the church.  However, an angel of the Lord came and affected ALL of them - leading them BACK to the Lord and to conversion.  From that point forward they became some wonderful missionaries, and great examples to everyone - even today.

As I walked around BYU seeing high school friends THIS is how I felt....just like Alma as he met back up with the sons of Mosiah after their missions and a lot of life!  I see SO many (too many) of my high school friends who have left the church.  So to see so many who are still strong in their faith, who have increased their conversion and testimony, and are still my sisters in the Lord was an experience that strengthened my heart!

What fun it was for me to see some old friends!  It was a balm to my soul!
