Christmas 2009

While I STILL haven't gotten any Christmas letters out....either via email OR snail mail (sorry)....we had a Wonderful Christmas Day!!!!

Last night was later than usual but not too late....but thankfully the kids slept in til around 7:30. Wow! Great for me...since I didn't sleep much last night ;).

Every year we come away with some witty quotes of the day! Spencer seems to be the one who gets the winning quote each year. A few years ago he came out and said, "Wo...Santa forgave me!!!" Of course, THAT was the first year we didn't video tape. We didn't video tape today either. Spencer's opening comment THIS year after seeing all that Santa had left them...."Jordan, now you've GOT to believe in Santa!" Jordan was a good sport this year regardless of his "belief" status.

Each of the children's reactions are something I cherish MOST about this morning (EACH Christmas morning). Kelsey ran around saying, "THIS is the BEST day of my life!" Cody's comment for just about everything was "wicked awesome!" (minus the box of pants with NO holes in the knees [he's SO hard on the knees of his pants] in which he said, "wo...now that's a lot of pants" and promptly put them aside to get back to the cars and tracks). Jordan was just happy all around. He went through a couple years of having difficult Christmases but this one was finally good for him.

Here are the pics and a video too:

Jordan had showed me this hat on several occasions and NEVER IN A MILLION years thought I had gotten it for him...or at least that is what his reaction said.

Cody was in car heaven today.

Kelsey was pleased that dad fixed up this bike for her.

Then it was relaxing and napping for me and Scott as the kids played and played and played and played. We moved things around so they could use the basement as a track for their new scooters. Wii Mario Kart and all the other games kept them preoccupied so parents could sleep.

Nana and Papa came and the ruckus started all over again. The loudness that had "sort of" died down began anew!!!

And so....now we wait for the cousins. It is late, but we can't go to bed until they come. I think we just heard a knock!!!

What a great Christmas! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
