I tend to gravitate to the phrases in songs or scriptures that jump out at me. As I sang As I Search the Holy Scriptures tonight at Relief Society this line jumped out at me:
"In thy word is life eternal"
Earlier I had written down John 17:3 as a possible scripture to share in my thoughts on reading the scriptures. I never shared it but while singing it totally came together for me. The scripture says:
"And this is life eternal, to know thee the only true god, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent."
One way to know God and Jesus Christ are found in the His words, in the scriptures. I know when I read them I feel like I know my Father in Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ, better.
I love these little AHA moments!
